PROcan is a highly portable oxygen canister that lets anyone deliver oxygen-rich rescue breaths during CPR. The company’s line is “Put the P back in CPR”: instead of mouth-to-mouth air, the rescuer breathes through PROcan’s PRO-Breath valve and the patient gets supplemental oxygen with every breath. PROcan says that is up to 6x more oxygen than mouth-to-mouth.
Why it matters on a yacht. Offshore, help can be hours away. A small canister stored with the AED and first-aid kit gives the crew a better rescue breath while they wait for the medevac. See PROcan
How it works
- Open the airway: tilt the head back and lift the chin.
- Insert the mouthpiece and put on the nose clip.
- Press the trigger and blow into the valve, watching the chest rise.
- Let the chest fall, then continue CPR.
