This Privacy Policy explains how Zip Yacht (“Zip Yacht,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit zipyacht.com, request a demo, create an account, or use our software and related services (together, the “Services”). Zip Yacht is an AI-native yacht management software company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, built and tested aboard a working 100-ft Fort Lauderdale motor yacht. 1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Forms and demo requests. When you fill out a form on our site (for example Get Started, a demo request, contact, or a directory listing claim), we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, company or vessel role, and your message.
• Account information. When you create an account or sign in (including with a social login, where offered), we collect your name, email address, login details, and profile information you choose to add.
• Crew board and profile data. If you use our crew board, day-work, or crew profile features, we collect the details you post, such as job listings, availability, experience, certifications, a CV or résumé, and a photo if you upload one.
• Content you put into the software. If you use Zip Yacht to manage a yacht, we store the operational information you or your team enter, such as maintenance logs, inventories, schedules, documents, and notes.
• Payment information. If you buy a subscription or listing, payments are handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of the payment and limited details (such as the last four digits of a card), not your full card number.
• Communications. If you email, chat with, or text us, we keep a record of those messages so we can respond and support you.

Information collected automatically

• Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and keep the site secure.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how people use our site, such as which pages are visited and how long visits last. This involves information like your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring website.
• Log and security data. Our hosting and security tools record technical information such as IP address, date and time of requests, and error logs to keep the Services running and protected from abuse.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the site, such as sign-in, from working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

2. How we use information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Services, including our AI features.
• To respond to demo requests, questions, and support requests.
• To create and manage your account and process payments.
• To send you service messages, such as account notices, scheduling confirmations, and updates about features you use.
• To send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email.
• To keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and spam, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we share information

We share information only as described here:

• Service providers. We use trusted companies to help run the Services, such as website hosting and content delivery, customer relationship management and messaging (email, chat, and SMS delivery), payment processing, analytics, email delivery, security and backup, and AI model providers that process content to generate responses for you. They may use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
• People you choose to share with. Information you post publicly, such as a crew board listing, a public crew profile, a directory listing, or a review, can be seen by other users and visitors.
• Your team. If your account belongs to a yacht, management company, or other organization, the account owner and authorized team members may see content in that shared workspace.
• Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe it is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Zip Yacht, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. If Zip Yacht is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be transferred to third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes.

5. AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence to generate text, summaries, or suggestions based on what you enter. Content you submit to these features is processed by our AI model providers only to deliver the feature to you. Please don’t enter sensitive personal information you don’t need to share.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We also keep it as long as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, security monitoring, and regular backups. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Many details can also be updated in your account settings.
• Deletion. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information. We will do so unless we need to keep certain information for legal or legitimate business reasons, which we will explain.
• Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
• Text messages. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.
• Cookies. Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

To make a request, email ZipYacht@zipyacht.com from the email address linked to your account, or tell us how to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any case within the time required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.

9. Children’s privacy

The Services are meant for adults working in and around the yachting industry. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites, such as directory listings for marine businesses. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will give additional notice, such as a notice on the site or an email to account holders. Your continued use of the Services after the update means you accept the revised policy.
